It's a DRY HEAT!

One of the things that makes us chuckle is when anyone who doesn't live here downplays the heat by saying "It's a dry heat." Right now is Monsoon, so the humidity and the dew point go up, so it's not all that dry. The last week or two have just been miserable. 115 ish most days. So dry heat or not, hot is hot. The face of the sun has dry heat too! The good news is that a storm blew in tonight and dropped buckets of rain. It also dropped the temperature by about 30 degrees. It's 86 degrees at 10pm. NICE. Nonetheless, we love living on the face of the sun and just survive the summer and dream about October through May.

To be fair, this was in direct sunlight on the patio. Which is why one shouldn't go out barefoot! Which is also why most people who live here have tried to fry an egg on the sidewalk.

This one is not in the direct sunlight! It was just plain HOT!

Cass enjoying the welcome rainstorm.

YOW-ZER! That is hot! I guess I will just enjoy the lovely winter weather in Dar es Salaam! It has been really nice, but will probably start warming up considerably in the next few weeks, and hopefully things will cool down for you in a while! What ya gunna do? Just smile!
